Maybe if I close my eyes the pictures won’t fade as I slip back into my life I’ll save
the wind and water and waves I trade…… for living in the country

A full sail blowing the salt-water taste…. Off the bow and across the face
of a not so far but distant place ………..where I’m still floating.

How it happens, now can steal. The present tense can seem so real
As we try to savor but watch congeal …….. the days turn in to memory.

The time is gone I’m coming home…. The sound of breathing and feeling alone
with the turtles and fish I will no longer roam ……until I close my eyes

note:
The Koolrider is a sailboat and our first experience of living on a boat in the
British Virgin Islands. Jo Ann and I enjoy snorkeling and free diving in the warm Caribbean waters. We brought home an island attitude, which slowly faded away as we re-entered our life in Darlington Heights, Va. We have returned to the Caribbean several times and will go again but the first time was awesome.
